My investment focus is on start-ups developing products and services that improve wellbeing and the environment. I look for a female-led or mixed founding team, ideally with a base in the North. I also invest in social enterprises and businesses for social impact.

LightOx

LightOx is developing new light activated drug compounds targeting a treatment for early stage and pre-cancerous lesions and are currently completing pre-clinical testing.

Maxwellia

Maxwellia is a trailblazing, female-founded consumer healthcare company revolutionising access to medicines. They identify prescription products that address unmet healthcare needs and transform them into over-the-counter (OTC) brands. This means that medicines once locked behind doctor’s appointments and prescriptions are now available directly at pharmacies and high street retailers—empowering people to look after themselves.

Holly Health

Digital health coaching for chronic conditions & day-to-day wellbeing, Holly Health is designed to bring tailored lifestyle support to those who most need it. The web and mobile apps are deployed with over 200 NHS partners, supporting healthcare providers and individuals.

Bettii Pod

The Bettii Pod is a groundbreaking menstrual cup/disc washer designed for installation in away-from-home toilet cubicles, poised to revolutionise the way reusable menstrual products are managed in public spaces. The washer addresses key challenges faced by menstruators using reusable products, making hygiene and convenience more accessible for all.

Green Lithium

Green Lithium is building the UK’s first merchant lithium refinery, sustainably empowering the electric vehicle revolution.

As a merchant refiner, Green Lithium is a technical chemical production company that can take lithium-bearing materials and convert them into high-quality lithium products. They are following a systematic programme approach, first developing in-house piloting capability in Teesside in the UK, then building a UK-based demonstration plant, before progressing to the development of a 50,000tpa output, £1bn+ annual revenue commercial facility.

BindEthics

BindEthics is developing an innovative Bio-adhesive to replace formaldehyde-based glues used in engineered wood products.

BTW before you ask, I won’t respond to direct approaches from founders as I prefer to invest within a syndicate.
